How does a complete pellet plant work to make wood pellets?

Generally, a complete pellet plant has to go through the following procedures to make wood pellets.
Crushing : Crushing is usually the first procedure of a biomass pellet plant. Crushing is meat to reduce the size of the raw materials to less than 3 mm in diameter and length, to ease the pressure of the pelletizing die.

Drying: Drying is an essential for a wood pellet plant for moisture content significantly influences wood pellet quality. The optimal moisture content for pelletizing is around 12—15 %. So the drying is highly recommended if the moisture content of your feed stock is higher tan 15%.

Pelletizing : Pelletizing is the core procedure of a pellet plant. The prepared feed stock will be conveyed into wood pellet mills and extruded into pellets. The quality of wood pellet mills are significantly affects the quality of wood pellets. Therefore high quality wood pellet plant is recommended.

Cooling: Cooling is a procedure to increase pellet durability and strength. The temperature of the newly extruded wood pellets is between 60-80 degrees Celsius with the moisture content up to 15%. When they are cooled down by coolers, the temperature will be lowered to room temperature and the moisture content will be lowered to 3-4%.

Packing: After cooling, pellets will be packed into bags to keep pellets from the damage of friction and damp. Packaging make the storage and transportation more easy.
