POM:Polyoxymethylene
Advantages:
1) with high stiffness
2) low friction
3) excellent dimensional stability
4) strong resistance to repeated impact
5) a wide range of use temperature (1 ℃ ~ 90 ℃)
6) it is available in all colors
Disadvantages:
1) easy corroded by strong acids
2) poor weather resistance
3) poor adhesion
PP:Polypropylene
Advantages:
1) small relative density, only 0.89-0.91, is one of the lightest varieties in plastic
2) wide range of use temperature (-30 ℃ ~ 75 ℃)
3) good mechanical properties with excellent molding performance
4) pure texture, non-toxic
5) good electrical insulation
Disadvantage:
1) poor cold resistance
2) products are vulnerable to light, heat and oxygen in the use of aging
3) poor toughness
4) It is vulnerable to light, heat and oxygen
Both POM and PP are thermoplastics.They are wide used in the productions of conveyor modular belt.There are lot of belt pins are made of PP/POM.Different item function required different material,it depends on the using environment.
